Colectivo Pericu site was founded on November 18, 2012 by Hermelinda Vargas. She is the Directora General de Colectivo Pericú. She has received national recognition from the University of Guadalajara  in 2018 for investigative journalism. 

Reconocimiento Nacional de la Universidad de Guadalajara 2018 por el periodismo de investigación.
